Overview of the BagSmart Travel Cord Organizer
Digital nomads need a way to keep their mess of cords under control on the road. The, plugs, batteries, cords, adapters, and SD cards soon pile up. You need an electronics organizer. It’s lightweight, and at under 6 oz. you can use the smaller organizer for short trips, and the large one for minimalist travel.

Materials, Colors, and Size
Travel cord organizers don’t tend to see a lot of rough use, so the fabric isn’t as important as say, the bottom of a travel bag. For an inexpensive organizer though, this thing is actually made quite well. The fabric is a durable water-repellent nylon, and the fabric and stitching are well put together. The clear plastic pouches are lines with a sturdy mesh for extra support. And while you won’t find YKK zippers on this inexpensive organizer, the zippers it does have are more than adequate.
I purchased the black version, but for the less color pallet challenged travelers, the Bagsmart 2-in-1 comes in 4 additional colors. For a more interesting version, check out the dark green, fluorescent green, grey, and yellow versions.
This set comes with one large, and one small organizer. The large one will hold more items than most people probably have. Closed its 9.4” x 5.7”, and unfolded it reaches 16” x 9.5”. The smaller version is pocket-sized, and great for shorter trips. Folded it is 6.9” x 2.7”, and unfolded its 8.5” x 6.5”. If you don’t have many electronics, this set is almost worth it just for the small version of this handy little organizer.

Expandable Soft-Sided Design
The feature that makes this one of the best travel cord organizers is the expandable soft-sided fabric. Both versions will accommodate as much, or little gear, as you put in them. Unlike many other cord organizers that have a firm-sided cover, this one is only as big as the items that you fill it with. The downside is, of course, that your cords and adapters won’t be as well protected.
Clear, Zipper Pouches
Large items are stored inside secure, zippered pockets, instead of bungee straps like many other organizers. This keeps your adapters from slipping out, and you won’t lose your pile of precious SD cards. The large organizer contains one large 4” x 9.4” clear pocket, and two pockets half this size. The top fold flap has 3 small clear pockets, more suitable for smaller items like SD cards or flash drives.
Tons of Storage
The large organizer will hold a ridiculous number amount of gear and cords in the 10 bungee straps. I had to search the backs of my drawers to come up with enough cords to test the capacity. I was able to fill this travel cord organizer to the brim with: 9 USB cords, 1 set of earbuds, 5 USB wall adapters, 1 battery pack, a 1TB hard drive, 5 SD cards, and 2 flash drives.
This amount of gear really stretches the capacity of the organizer. And while it the bag and strap will easily accommodate much more, the bag does start to become difficult to close with this much gear. A more reasonable amount of electronics would be about half this much.
Small Organizer for Short Trips
Thrown in as a bonus, the small organizer is one of my favorite features of this set. It’s just such a perfect little size for short trips. With 4 bungee cords, and a small zippered pouch, it will store your charge cords and adapters. You can also take the small version in your daypack, keeping the larger travel cord organizer with your carry on.
Summary
The BagSmart 2-in-1 is a solid, handy, well-made, travel cord organizer that will meet most traveler’s needs at a reasonable price. The larger pouch will hold a ton of electronics, probably more than you will carry on most trips. The second, smaller bag, is great for shorter trips, or for minimalist one bag travelers who don’t carry a ton of gear.
