I have spent years obsessing over the perfect travel bag for my independent world travels. After every trip, I compare notes on what I like and don’t like about each bag, convinced the perfect one bag exists. I haven’t found the perfect bag yet, but I have found a lot that I love.
Since I spend so much time traveling and researching travel gear, I want to share this info and my favorite bags to help you discover the perfect one bag for your travels. My goal is to find, and help you discover, the perfect one-bag for travel.
People have different travel styles, which can change over time. Some folks like a large duffel, some like organization, while others love minimalist travel. Our styles may differ, but the goal of enjoying the freedom of travel using less gear, using simple one-bag luggage, remain the same.

Well, I’m not really anybody in particular. My name is Geoff, and I love to travel. After years of world travel I realized that I get more out of the experience when I carry less stuff. It costs less, it takes less time to pack, there is less to carry around, and with fewer distractions you enjoy your experience more.
I find my best travel experience comes when I balance convenience with minimalism. I want to carry enough stuff to keep me happy and healthy, but not so much that I am lugging around a 70L backpack, or a 3-piece rolling luggage set through the crowded streets of Paris.
The ideal size bag for me is about 30-45L, this is generally a maximum carry-on sized bag or smaller. Rolling luggage is good for a lot of people, but I prefer something more versatile. An ideal bag for me will have several ways to carry it, and be full of organizational features.
My perfect one bag has backpack straps, a shoulder strap, and side and top handles. Bags should have fantastic organization, easy to access compartments, and be bomb-proof, made of the highest quality materials and components.
Most of the bags you find on this site will meet most, if not all, of these criteria. Related products I review will be designed to be used with one-bag travel style luggage, or improve its performance.
